Heather + Cody // Demopolis, Alabama June Wedding

In the week leading up to Heather and Cody's wedding, the forecast looked a bit questionable. We chatted on the phone about clear umbrellas and rain plans for portraits, but, with almost a 90% chance of thunderstorms, the forecast didn't give us any calm even on the Friday prior to their big day.

I'm not sure what their Saturday morning looked like, but I'll give you a little insight to my morning...I woke up early as I always do on wedding days. I always like to say a prayer for my bride and groom's marriage on the morning of their big day. I just feel like it is such an honor to be a part of something so much bigger than myself, and I don't ever want to take it for granted. Well, after checking the weather and still seeing a good chance for thunderstorms throughout the day, I added a little something extra that morning...I went to our family room and said the most earnest prayer asking God to PLEASE hold off the storms. You could say I was a bit exhausted after a few back to back summer weddings and as Matt and I were in the midst of selling our Demopolis home while simultaneously being stretched between two cities, Prattville and Demopolis. On top of this, being the perfectionist that I am, I somewhat exhaust myself during rainy wedding days and try my best to make them perfect for my brides despite the rain. I prayed that I had that energy and zest in me if it rained. But most of all I prayed He would take it away. Well guys, He delivered. The weather was amazingly clear ALL DAY. No rain. No thunder. Nothing but clear skies. As I got in my car at the end of the reception, I got a notification on my phone..."Rain starting in your location in 6 minutes." I even screenshotted it and sent it to my mom. I couldn't help but to laugh and look up to the big man with the BIGGEST thank you.

The day was just as beautifully decorated and calm as I knew it would be with these two. Wedding days are not always calm, but they would not have had it any other way. They didn't even need any posing prompts...Heather and Cody are lovebirds of the best kind. These two have kept me laughing the entire year of working with them, and I am honestly going to miss working with them! So excited for y'all and all that you have to look forward to in marriage! <3 Congratulations!!
