In January and February of each year, I spend time analyzing the past year, evaluating and planning. This past year brought with it some amazing blessings from God after my decision to start focusing more on weddings and engagements. I have had such fun getting to know my brides one by one, working to figure out how to accurately depict one of the most important periods of their lives. I always have such a story to tell about a wedding day or engagement session, yet I always have to condense my words to the few that I share on Facebook or Instagram. So, this year, I have decided to start blogging. I want to share MORE moments along with the stories behind those moments. So, what better way to kickstart my blog than by sharing Greeley and Taylor's wedding!!
When Greeley mentioned Taylor bringing his guitar to their engagement session, that was it! I was in love with this precious couple! We even got to include their dogs in a few shots at the end of their session. Guitars....dogs....yeah, I was completely in my element!
Fast-forward a few months, and Greeley, her mom and I met in October for Greeley's Bridal Session at Springdale Estate in Andalusia, Alabama. Side note: Springdale is owned by The City of Andalusia and is a super incredible venue! I really cannot do Greeley's wedding dress justice in describing it, so I am inserting some images from her Bridal session below. It was simply stunning. We were able to use the entire property for her session, making for some really beautiful shots. As always, the anticipation killed me in the time between the Bridal session and the wedding day...
Fast forward another two months, and it was showtime! The weather seemed to cooperate just perfectly for a December wedding with temperatures averaging right around 60 degrees. Greeley and Taylor's "Getting Ready" and Ceremony occurred at First United Methodist Church in Andalusia. We did get to sneak across the street for a few portraits mid-day!
I was so lucky to have such a wonderful team for Greeley's wedding with my Assistant Photographer, Lisa, and Organizer Extraordinaire/Assistant, Molly. We were able to stay way ahead of schedule all day (helloooo and thank you, Punctual Taylor and your groomsmen!!) allowing for such a calm and stress-free afternoon!
I especially loved the way the red camellias accented a few of Taylor's individual portraits. So perfectly Christmas-y!
In one of my favorite ceremony exits of all time, Greeley and Taylor threw open the doors to the back of the church, exiting with so much excitement and joy. This picture ^ is so precious to me!!
The night ended at Andalusia Country Club, with beautiful greenery and candles throughout and great music straight out of Nashville with the awesome band, The O'Donnell's.
When it was time to leave, the guests gathered outside for a magical sparkler exit as Greeley and Taylor hopped in this precious candy-apple-red Ford pickup for their getaway!
Congratulations, you two! I have so enjoyed every minute working with and getting to know both of you over the period of the past year. I wish you both a lifetime full of the same joy that you had as you left your wedding ceremony!
